The oldies songs always give me the homie feeling. It remains me of the old days. It always remains me the morning time at home, when the house is busy preparing for the day. It's the giggles and singing-along time in the morning. I remember I didn't speak english, but apperantly I sang it in my own version - as far as I could catch the wordings - as long as it sounds "the same". I just call to say I love you by Lionel Richie, it turned out to be "ai jes kow to say ai lov yu".. not too bad, huh?
It remains me seating in the middle of back seat, just right next to my dad's shoulder. Watching the road ahead and singing along with him, asking him, "what's the song about, dad"? So even tho I couldn't understand the wordings, I could still feel the "joy" that the song brought. I remember they were like the lullaby brought me to sleep on the journey - you know that feeling of almost asleep and you can fairly hear the melody. And the other way around when you're just about to awake. It remains me how dad horned along song rythms, and when it was the red light he would either stretch himself, or just danced his hands along.. haha, so cute! Remember those time we opened the food in the car, and mum pass along the food to dad's mouth. Huhu. And how I always saw my sister sleeping thru the journey and mum kept checking on her positioning. And how dad talked by looking to us thru the middle mirror. They always remains me of love, long journey (going out of town), .. and just the sweet old days.
How I wish I'd have time to organize some song clips into the blog so I can share it with you all. At the moment, I can only post one of the song lyric..
Let There Be Love by Nat King Cole
Let there be you,
Let there be me.
Let there be oysters
Under the sea.
Let there be wind,
An occassional rain.
Chile con carne,
Sparkling champagne
Let there be birds
To sing in the trees,
Someone to bless me
Whenever I sneeze.
Let there be cuckoos,
A lark and a dove,
But first of all, please...
Let there be love.
