It was awesome.
Have I mentioned it was awesome?
Have I mentioned it was awesome?
Seeing about 50,000 people from around the world so thirsty and passionate for God.. AMAZING. Some people travelled from US, Japan, Korea.. heizz mention any country there must be at the very least 1 person representing that country. Pendeta ini n itu dari Indo juga bertebaran (katanya, soalnya gw ngga gitu tau pendeta2 Indo). People from different churches united into one for God. Awesome. No differentiation of churches and/ or denominations. We were ONE. These people are so sooo passionate to be expanded to their limits for God's purposes. Those who came not only investing in their whole week of time of working, but also big cash for airfares, hotels, etc. The main stadium fits about 40,000 and plus those who are not registered who joined the registered delegates at the 4.30 or 8.00 free night rallies. It was loaded! Plus those volunteers who gotta stand at the events (or they just didnt get seats).
The conference started at 9am and finished at around 10pm. I gotta leave home at 7am and arrived at 12 midnite! Yea I missed some of the nite rallies not surprisingly and sometimes must left earlier coz the train will be so jam-packed and I didnt wanna get home after 12 (ntar berubah ke bentuk asli =p).
The train that goes to the Olympic Park only goes back and forth from Lidcombe Station. So everyone must took the train from the Lidcombe Station and vice versa, to get home they must also got off at the Lidcombe station before we cld go our separate places. It's funny how from Lidcombe station, the world is like another world. Those people who were in the train to the Olympic Park are the conference delegates - like I was too. So, everyone was Christian. Early morning they were enthusiastic - after an exhausting day the previous day, filled with so much joy. In the train people sing praises, reading Christian books and even the Bible!! Gee, how many of you have ever seen anyone reading the Bible in the train? *Shocking* I may never seen most of the people yet they're no stranger to me. From Lidcombe station, I always felt like it was the train going to Heaven. It felt more than great. At the end of the day though, when we went our separate ways home.. and for myself, that's when I reached the Central station and hop on into the bus taking me home.. back to the reality world. Apalagi on Friday when the conference was really finished.. how I really wished I didn't have to go back to reality. The joy and peace of spending my days in the house of the Lord.
The conference was devided into 3 main streams: Pastoral & Leaderships, Creative Ministry, Evangelism & Community Impact. Each stream was again devided into electives like Youth Pastors in the Pastoral & Leaderships, Songs Writting, Dancing, Video Editing, etc in the Creative Ministry, and Evangelism, Transformation, etc in the Evangelism & Community Impact. They were all contain very specific studies and sermonts according to the electives. The first morning session was all delegates in the main stadium, then followed by the stream session, then 2 sessions of the electives, and last the night rallyes which were open for the public either the 4.30's or 8.00's session (some ppl were in both sessions - just can't get enuf of 'em!).
Myself was supposed to be in the Pastoral & Leadership stream (not me choosing, I bought the ticket from someone else's). I actually wanted to do the Evangelism and Community Impact at first but ended up in every classes! Hahaha. They were pretty flexible though. You can go to any other streams/ electives as long as they were spaces but you didnt get priorities if you were not enrolled in the streams/ electives.
The speakers! Great speakers. Some people are skeptic about great speakers.. but I learn that it was a great impartation from them.. how God has impacted so much thru them. It's like Moses, Joshua and Pauls of the Millenium. It was just total blessings. They were Rick Warren (Purpose Driven Life's author), Reinhard Bonkee (an evangelist from Germany who's reaching out millions in Africa).. etc.. ngga berapa gw inget nama persisnya, but surely they were leaders with servants' hearts.
Ok, enuf for the broad pictures of the conference. Will share some of the sermonts and lessons later - sleppy for now.
Btw, check out the conference website: http://www2.hillsong.com/conferences/hillsong. And don't miss out next year's conference. I'm already in. Get recharge fully and ready to go on again.. like I got!
